It is a small place located at an intersection next to a park, with a welcoming sign and open late into the night. Even after 8 o'clock, we were greeted warmly and well taken care of. We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with both owners, Tom and Donna, who have been running the restaurant for 21 years. The decor is beautifully and distinctly Italian. The salad was served in large bowls and was fresh. The Lobster Ravioli and the Cavatini with meatballs were exceptional, with generous portions and a delicious homemade marinara sauce. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful restaurant.
I can confidently say that this restaurant is fantastic because I am one of the owner's daughters. My mother pours her heart and soul into every meal she prepares, and my father's warm and welcoming personality makes everyone feel like family from the moment they walk through the door. I truly believe that this place is one of Pittsburgh's best-kept secrets. If you're seeking homemade, made-to-order meals in a cozy, old-fashioned setting, this is the place for you. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
This restaurant serves some of the best burgers at a great price of $4.95. The onion rings are a must-try: paper thin and fresh, hand-pressed burger. They also offer cheap beer. The atmosphere is homey and they serve homemade spaghetti and meatballs on Thursdays, which is a big hit with their loyal following. The meatballs and meatball sub are both delicious. They also have a fried dough appetizer with a savory and sweet taste, featuring basil in the dough. The fish sandwich is a Pittsburgh-style with a large portion on a soft bun, and the service is excellent. The owner, Tom, is often behind the bar, providing a welcoming and enjoyable experience. They also offer six packs to go. Though they have other items on the menu, the burger is just too good to pass up.
As soon as my mother and I stepped through the front door of T D's Pub Grub, we were warmly welcomed by Tom, the friendly owner. It was our first time dining at T D's and we were there specifically for the fish sandwich. Tom seated us at our table promptly and we both ordered the fish dinner, which came with cole slaw and a choice of french fries, vegetables, or mac n' cheese. When our meals arrived, we were impressed by the generous portion of fish on top of the sandwich. The taste was phenomenal, making it one of the best fish sandwiches we've ever had. The mac n' cheese and french fries were also delicious and generously portioned. For under $10, we were extremely satisfied with the value. The fish and fries were not greasy at all, showing careful preparation. Tom checked in on us during our meal to ensure everything was to our liking. Our server, introduced as Tom's granddaughter, was attentive and provided excellent service throughout. We are looking forward to returning to T D's Pub Grub not only for the fantastic fish sandwich but also to try other items on the menu. Thank you, T D's, for a great dining experience and friendly service!
