Broomhall Castle - Clackmannanshire

Overall, I am giving Broomhall Castle a generous two-star rating. We stayed for five nights and on the positive side, the hardworking and friendly staff were a highlight. Courtenay was especially enjoyable during breakfast. However, the castle is in desperate need of some tender loving care. Upon returning to our room after the first day, it had not been cleaned. The staff did make up for this by providing complimentary drinks during dinner. Unfortunately, the room servicing consisted of simply throwing the duvet back onto the bed without straightening the sheet. The coffee cups and glasses were never cleaned or replaced, towels were left untouched, and the arrival biscuits were only replaced once. The room was never properly cleaned, as dust covered all surfaces and the furniture appeared worn-out. Our final bill was given without any paperwork or breakdown. Despite these issues, the staff's efforts made it a potentially decent place to stay, although the owners were not present during our visit.

Our son and daughter-in-law's wedding took place at this venue. We had the entire castle from Friday afternoon until Sunday lunchtime. The location, service, friendliness of the staff, and the quality and quantity of the food provided were all excellent. It was a very special day for both families and the service we received made it even more special. We are incredibly grateful.

Had both dinner (extra) and breakfast (included) at Broomhall Castle and both were okay. The roast pork I had for dinner was a bit on the dry side and could have used some more gravy but as the dining staff appeared to be short-handed, I never had the chance to request more. There was a good number of options on the breakfast menu as well as a variety of items available that weren't on the menu. When our toast got to the table it was a bit on the cold side but I think that was also due to short-staffing as I only saw one server tending to all of the tables.

The restaurant graciously opened early for me upon my arrival, and it was definitely worth it. The food was delicious and the service was superb.
