Viarepa - Ciudad de Panama

TL;DR Bad empanadas Stopped in for a mid afternoon (3pm) snack. We were seated immediately since we were the only ones there. It took about 25min from ordering to service, which seemed long, but we did order 6 different empanadas so we didn't complain. The food we received was quite disappointing. The only one that wasn't dry and flavorless was the carne molida; everything else was edible, bit not enjoyable. From the texture of the shells we suspect a number of them had been re fried rather than made to order. We wouldn't go back.

Excellent food and service. Arepas, cachapas, empanadas, you name it... everything was delicious and super affordable.

Not a good arepa. More than double the price of normal arepas and not half as good. Waiter spilled food on table when serving but did not bother to take it away. Found big chicken bone in the arepa. Chicken tasted foul. Waiter was on phone while serving the food.

Really great. So much good variety. I'd come back multiple times if I was here longer.

My first Arepa. Loved it. Very good service and great value. Small dining area.
