Contribuiți la feedbackAs soon as you step into Scriptum, you enter a vibrant piece of Italy. The restaurant recently launched its brunch menu, and my friends and I couldn't wait to see what awaited us. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the delightful Executive Chef Antonio, who makes you feel right at home, as if you've been invited to a private gathering. The ambiance is a charming mix of rustic and pastoral styles in some areas, while the back boasts a modern, sunlit space with a stunning skylight. The wine displays on the walls truly elevate the atmosphere, transporting you to the heart of Italy right in Williamsburg. Once seated, we ordered almond milk lattes, setting the stage for a memorable brunch experience. We decided to try the entire menu, and here are some highlights. The Saint Germain blueberry pancakes were nothing short of spectacular. With a perfectly crisp exterior and a buttery-soft inside, each stack was layered with melted blueberries and topped with a refreshing lemon basil sorbet—absolutely flawless. The organic local yogurt, chef-made granola, goji berries, coconut, blueberries, and dried apricots are all prepared in-house. Yes, you read that correctly! The freshness was incredible, and it left us wanting more. The soft frittata with leeks and vegetables, drizzled with truffle vinaigrette and served with a parmesan fondue, was like something out of a gastronomic dream. The knife slid through the frittata effortlessly, and its taste was pure and fresh—it’s a must-try. The watercress salad, featuring vermouth apple, dried apricots, walnuts, and poached eggs with a bourbon honey dressing, ranks among the best brunch salads I've ever had. It was so fresh and summery while remaining healthy and incredibly tasty. The combination of fruits and nuts was just perfect. Next up was the avocado toast topped with scrambled eggs, sunflower seeds, and spicy oil. You might wonder what could be different about this avocado toast compared to others, but it’s truly in a league of its own—definitely top-tier. The "3 eggs any style" dish, featuring applewood smoked bacon, chef fries, and Mediterranean dadolata, made it to my favorites list as well. If you're in the mood for crispy, out-of-this-world bacon, this is the place to be. The spaghetti dish left me in a food coma, with its heavenly combination of truffle goodness that you simply have to try to understand the level of gastronomic delight. While those were my highlights, everything we tasted was incredibly delicious. If I return (which I undoubtedly will), I plan to order the entire menu again. We wrapped up our meal with incredible desserts: tiramisu, a must-have lavender crème brûlée, and bomboloncini Italian donuts served with crème anglaise and chocolate dipping sauce. All three were so delightful that I felt sad when they were gone, making me eager to come back soon. I’m truly impressed with the chef's precision and dedication to the menu, not to mention his genuine care for his customers. If you’re searching for your next brunch or dinner spot, make sure to book a table here right away. This is the place to be!
Excellent pizza! We loved the place will definitely be back!
Excellent service, the owner roams around and puts out a great personal vibe, kitschy decor, easy to get a seat. The food was really well priced, reasonable portions. The gems of the menu include the mozzarella and the beet gnochi. Seems like a great place for groups.
Gnocchi was good, very good service, although it was hard to get to. It's not the best Italian in the city, but it's a good experience and a good date night option.
I'm not sure why this place is categorized as a "wine bar" on Facebook because it's so much more than that. The food is excellent, the craft cocktails are top-notch, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, complemented by a friendly staff. I can't wait to return. #Cheers
