The pea soup was out of this world, my friend’s mushroom barley soup was equally scrumptious and the falafel and pita sandwiches were extraordinary. Mine was extra spicy, my friend’s regular. Both were amazing especially when combined with coleslaw and pickle and dressings on the side. This was the most superb vegetarian luncheon for the two of us. You’ve got to go to Mendy’s 2.0 in person or online or on Goldbelly as soon as you read this review.
Really disappointed, food was not good at all.Food: 2/5
Their chicken rice soup has no actual chicken in it, it’s just rice in chicken broth with the only flavor being extreme amounts of sodium. When I called to complain, they decided to send someone to pick the soup rather than actually rectify anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to resell the soup afterwards. $9.00 is more than twice the bag of rice the ingredients came in. This place is not worth it.
Stopped here to pick up dinner on my way out of the city. The physical location is somewhat grimy and not eat in friendly.I ordered for takeout so that was not an issue.Burger was large, tasty, and packed very well for take out.Split pea soup was delicious.Pastrami Knish was not what I was expecting but nevertheless very delicious. The chicken fingers were the only thing I did not like but being that my wife enjoyed them very much I assume it was just a matter of taste.Certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union.
This is the last remaining outlet of this kosher (UO) deli. It's most well known for its pastrami, corn beef, hotdogs and a soup and sandwich option that was once referenced on Seinfeld. The restaurant seems mostly for delivery and pick up. The food is still pretty good. It's on the expensive side even by the standards of a Manhattan kosher restaurant.
