Mama Fina’s - City of New York

Sometimes, my American friends just aren't in the mood for Filipino food, and honestly, it feels like a betrayal. In those moments, I end up going to Mama Fina's by myself because I'm not changing my preferences for anyone. The portions here are enormous. (I know my photo doesn’t do it justice, but that side of crispy pork adobo is as big as my face.) Almost everything on the menu is meant for sharing. Mama, please consider offering half or quarter portions! I’d love to order both sisig and sinigang, but I can’t eat enough for two entire families. I promise you’d make more money if you let us solo diners order a variety of dishes and enjoy them all!

The food is great!High quality.Ordered crispy pata and it's perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside and moist in the inside.It's very tasty.I want to think that the quality of the pork is very high.The Bicol express is perfect.Halo-halo is excellent.Lots and lots of stuff.Note that one order of halo-halo is good for two and can stretch to four.This is must come back place.After talking to the owner and hearing his description of their sisig,that is a must try the next time.They only use pork belly. No inards....this is something to look forward to.Btw,The restaurant atmosphere is nice and well decorated.The staff are very helpful and cheerful.Highly recommended.

Was with a group, and the only vegetarian.They were not only out of the main veggie entree (tofu sisig), but also ran out of any veggie sides except some beans. They improvised with fried eggs, with some cajoling.Some of my friends had reported that the dishes came out of order. Servers were generally polite.To add insult to injury, they charged us for the items they had run out of, and refused to make good on the check.Atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant.Will not be going back though.

Came to NY for a vacation and was missing Filipino food. Ordered the Sisig, Lechon Kawali, Sinigang, and Garlic Rice! Tastes like home! Loved the food! Definitely recommend! Such a cute interior and staff are very friendly.

This place is where you go for LEGIT filipino food. As a born and raised filipino, if you don't crash right after filipino food, it's not good food. This place was amazing, the sisig is the best I've ever had, even better than some i've had in the philippines. The garlic rice is done very well.The food came out really quickly in 10 mins and they were very attentive to us.The atmosphere of the restaurant was very vintage music based, there were instruments around the restaurant.Go to this place if you want GREAT filipino food
