Koji Izakaya - City of New York

Unexpectedly amazing! The decor is nothing to write home about (although the Japanese murals are great), but the food is fantastic. Easily the best sushi in the immediate area, and the kitchen food was excellent as well. Can't believe this place doesn't get more business. Highly recommend giving it a shot. I loved the Gyu Don, the Okonomiyaki, and the Croquettes. Service was top notch as well. Also, a way above average selection of Japanese beer, well beyond the typical Sapporo Asahi Kirin that you find everywhere.

This place is by far one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. Sushi is amazing, small plates are very very good. Atmosphere is great too- good music, very clean restaurant. It’s a hidden gem.

We were reserved at 9:45 clock and arrived at 9:50 clock. the server told us the restaurant was already closed. we said we had kept up, but there was no one left. the open bookings were open until 10:00. I recommend not accept reservations for 10 o'clock when the restaurant is closed at 9:50 o'clock.

Fumes from the nail salon next door made it impossible for us to eat here. We had to leave and did not get a chance to try the food.
