Contribuiți la feedbackThe pub has a charming, yet quirky atmosphere. The tables are small, with a focus on drinking rather than dining. The service can be confusing and it gets quite loud. Dogs are often seen begging for food under the tables. Despite its oddities, they do have live music, although the small space can make it overwhelming. The food is good, but the lively atmosphere tends to steal the show. This place feels more like a neighborhood bar than a restaurant.
I can't vouch for the accommodations at The New Inn, but I would advise against dining at their restaurant. It pains me to say this, but during our recent visit to London, my family (including Kristen, Scott aged 14, and Kate aged 12) were looking for some good pub food. After checking reviews on Yelp, Open Table, and TripAdvisor, we settled on The New Inn based on positive feedback from Open Table. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food. While the drinks and beer were satisfactory, the food fell short of our expectations. Although the pub was busy when we arrived, it felt like they weren't prepared for the crowd. The bartender/hostess mentioned that they hadn't had a busy Friday night in a while, which should have been a warning sign for us. Despite this, we decided to stay. Three of us opted for the fish and chips, but the batter was too thick and had an odd taste of cinnamon and gingerbread. My daughter ordered a flatbread pizza which lacked flavor and had undercooked, doughy edges. To make matters worse, there was an intoxicated man in the ladies' restroom while my daughter was inside. Overall, I would recommend The New Inn for drinks with friends only. For food, it's best to dine at home or find another restaurant in St. John's Wood.
The staff is extremely friendly and provides good service at this restaurant. The food is simple yet has a hint of ethnic flair. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the St. Johns Wood area.
The pub good ranges from Chicken Tika Masala to Bangers and Mash. Awesome sticky toffee bread pudding and the mostly Hungarian Staff was brilliant especially the Chef!!
Lovely pub with lovely staff and great food. The burgers were particularly impressive, massive and very good. The only thing we didnt really like was the flatbread dipper things... a bit odd! Really enjoyed it.
