My friends and I were searching for a place to eat on Boxing Day, but Central London was extremely crowded so we ended up eating here out of necessity. The prices on the menu were exorbitant. I ordered a Margherita pizza for £15 and asked for extra mushrooms, but the waiter rudely informed me that I needed to order the Fungi pizza for £19 instead. The Margherita was essentially the same pizza but with added mushrooms, which they charged an extra £4 for. The waiter was impolite throughout our meal. When we requested tap water, he brusquely insisted that they only served still water for £5. We all felt mistreated by his attitude. The pizza tasted like it was frozen, not fresh. My friends ordered fettuccine pasta with minimal chicken pieces and a chicken breast with frozen potatoes, each dish costing over £20. As we sat outside, my friend asked for an ashtray, but the waiter ignored the request and gave a negative reaction. When I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill due to the poor experience, the waiter, who turned out to be the manager, loudly insisted that it was mandatory and couldn't be removed. His behavior was unprofessional and reflected a lack of hospitality and customer service skills. We were forced to pay a 25% service charge, much higher than the typical 10-12.5% in the UK. In total, the bill came to £102 for subpar food and unsatisfactory service. I do not recommend dining at this restaurant as the food was disappointing and the staff seemed disinterested in their work.
My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant and asked for a table for two just for drinks. They informed us that we could only stay for 20-30 minutes since we were only having drinks, which was fine with us. While we were drinking, a waiter approached us, clearly annoyed that we were not ordering food. He spoke to his colleagues about it as if he wanted us to leave or be upset. I explained to him that his colleagues were aware of our situation. We decided to order garlic bread, but it came out as a pizza. Even though it was still raw at the crust, I pointed it out to the waiter. Instead of apologizing, he insisted that I should have specified how I wanted it cooked. His attitude towards us was condescending, as if he was doing us a favor or trying to get rid of us. I questioned why this employee was still working in the hospitality industry, as there are surely better employees in London. The owner later apologized to me and assured me that the waiter would be fired in an attempt to make me "happy."
We had been to this restaurant twice before and had a wonderful experience. However, this was our first visit since it was rebranded. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was disappointing. The couple next to us had a terrible time with wrong orders and flat Coke. Despite ordering the same dishes we had enjoyed before, the food was still great. But the service was the worst we had ever experienced. The waitress was rude when we asked for more time to decide on our order. The staff seemed disinterested and were more focused on flirting with others. We had to stack our plates ourselves and ask for the service charge to be removed from the bill. Overall, it was a shame as we were regular customers, but we will not be returning. We advise potential customers to avoid this establishment and look for better options in Leicester Square. The food was good, but the service was unacceptable.
Stay away from this tourist trap! The food was bland and dry. The waiter was slow. They didn’t give us what we ordered. Bad bad bad
This place is now colled primitivo. Don't go in there. IT is a disgusting place. Prices are inflated. Cold and stałe food. Toilets are dirty.
