In a highly touristy area, this was a pleasant surprise, a nice independent local, very polite owner, cool and cheerful but not loud people, good selection of ales, normal prices (around 4-4,5 a pint), no food i think but the group sat next to us brought in their pizzas!would surely go back just to stare at the ceiling
Welcome, attentive, not only the bar staff, but this was reflected by the locals. The passion and value for money. The bar staff provided is above and beyond. What this means for locals is finding a place to go, be themselves and if you are lucky enough to be a visitor, like us, you will feel like one of their own. We will be back. Lynsey and Liam... By the way, Sean pulls the best pint.
Run by a lovely Scottish couple, this restaurant is definitely a popular spot for the locals. They have a great selection of beers, including a London Pride on tap. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Unfortunately, they don't serve food, but it's worth a visit for a taste of the local atmosphere. The interior is unique and it's never noisy, making it a good place to relax and watch the snooker sharks battle it out. Make sure to check the opening hours, as they may be limited. There's a fish and chip shop across the street that's supposed to be good, and the Waitrose next door is convenient for grabbing food to take back to your hotel.
The Scottish bar manager, who is on the heavier side, was incredibly rude. The beer was warm and flat, and the bathroom had a strong odor reminiscent of a crowded ship on a hot summer day.
