The cheese traveler absolutely foots that bill with their vast knowledge and immense special interest in Jesus from far and wide. They have every sort of cheese I can imagine from creamy buttery brie, to deliciously Sharp and spicy cheddars. I will continue to come to the cheese traveler so long as they are open for all of my cheese needs.
A MUST stop for cheeses and cheese paninis! . Ambiance is an out of place WELL CURATED cheese-shop. Inside is bright and cheerful. . Along with imported and domestic cheese, they have a little of everything you need for charcuterie boards, picnic or a take out. CT also makes delicious and interesting cheese sandwiches! Saw oil roasted Marconas I've not seen for a year! I tried their Smoked Duck with aged alpine lace cheese and blueberry jam sammie. It was phenomenal : . They carry local Saratoga Springs mineral water and Pellegrino. . Price is fair for the quality . Service is warm and accommodating. Mary the owner was very knowledgeable and nice. She kindly offered to change the cheese on my sammie for my dietary needs without me even asking : . . Parking is a small private lot shared with another merchant. It's free with a tiny garden. Cheese Travelers is a gem and worth a stop!
My husband decided to bring me here as a fun date night. We talked to Mary who was friendly and knowledgeable. After sampling some cheeses she helped us curate a dinner box with 4 cheeses, 2 meats and our choice of crackers or bread. We opted for black pepper water crackers which were very good.. The rest of the box was filled with an assortment of fruit, jam, nuts, cornishons, chocolate, and a honey stick. The store is quaint and an eclectic assortment of chocolate, candy, chips, tea, sodas, pasta, milk and other local products. They have some amazing sounding grilled cheese sandwiches. With duck...yes please! I wish I had known about their summer bbq menus sooner. Tomorrow is the last night and I'm not sure if we'll be able to get back there but everything on the menu sounds good. I highly recommend the Cheese Traveler.
I don 't know a lot about cheese, except that it makes for some of the best jokes. However, for a while now this place has been on my radar and a series of events (such as date night coinciding with the store 's late hours allowed us to come here and explore their offerings. It is a small shop, located on Delaware Ave. in a set of stores that is easy to miss if you don 't have a smart phone or a very observant wife/navigator! When we walked in it was obvious that this was a fun little store with a wide variety of cheeses. However, it wasn 't cold (as in full of fridge coolers at all but instead warm and pleasant. Which is also exactly how I would describe Mary, the woman who helped us.She walked us through several types of cheddar cheeses which my wife likes, providing samples and commentary along the way. Then, she made some recommendations regarding soft cheeses. They appear to only have one variety of Provolone (one of my favorites and it was quite good, but I do wish there were more. We decided to get a box filled with four types of cheese, two types of meats (beef sausage and spec , various fruits (strawberries, two types of grapes, blueberries nuts, corn nuts (a surprising but welcome addition! , honey sticks, and marmalade. All worked well together with the crackers provided and it was easily enough for two rather hungry and adventurous adults. I won 't lie... it wasn 't inexpensive... but for a special occasion it was certainly special. Going back, I think I would focus more on some of their interesting cured meats and other local items like jams on the walls. Go take a look at the EXTENSIVE list of items they have on their website as being in stock, and then wonder how anyone could possibly see them all in just one visit. It was a lot of fun and I hope to get back.
Love this place! I had offered to bring cheese to a party but had no idea as to what. The owner selected and they were a huge hit sufficiently varied and absolutely delicious, as well as the crackers. I will definitely be going back!
