Contribuiți la feedbackA place like we love them outside the hustle, behind the port of Saint Jean de Luz. Excellent meat, pintxo, good wines and good mood of the boss
I just had a fantastic evening at this bar. the best red wine I had in time. I love the tapas snacks. But the best part of our experience was the barman who unfortunately did not get his name, was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable on wine... and food. Because of him, we stayed much longer than planned. Very recommended this bar.
Stumbled across this place and so glad for it totally agree with the previous reviewer this place is like another world compared to those in SJdL, in the best possible way. Vibrant and busy but not manic, quick friendly service, tempting pintxos and...really interesting wine list. Went on Sunday late morning, full of locals with a great vibe that highlights how much amazing produce there is in the Basque region, without being pretentious. Look forward to another visit to try the wine : My only wish is there were more vegetarian options but that's not a criticism of the restaurant as of course the Basque region is famed for meat and fish!
The menu is small but all meals are from local producers with fresh seasonal foods. Our lovely waitress guided us through the choices. Despite alot of mediocre restaurants in St Jena de Luz we returned on our second night for an equally good meal, and...the pairing local wines , by the glass, were recommended. Full of locals and next to the Fronton court, so a Basque game to watch.
Not prepossessing as you walk by but very busy and for good reason. Limited menu but very creative. We ate at the bar because all the tables were taken. The bartender was very friendly and helpful she explained the custom of the pintxos, let...us try several wines and a cider. The roast chicken was beautifully cooked. Good English spoken.
