Contribuiți la feedbackAfter I had moved from St:Jean-de-Luz to the fort de socoa and before I came back, I felt like a break. close to the continue there are several restaurants, but there were build so that I landed in the caffe de la plage' in the curve of a road and was completely away from the beach. at a theke in the inner I asked for a bière blond de pression' and got a grimbergen blonde in her typical goblet. after payment by cash (no credit card, please) I took the glass outside. the outside seats are not too attractive, only on a road and quite from the beach, but I enjoyed my pretty strong (6,7 25ml Belgian abbey, now produced by carlsberg in various countries.
After walking out to the Fort de Socoa from St:Jean-de-Luz and before going back, I felt like a break. There are several restaurants next to each other close by the fort, but there was construction going on, so I ended up at the 'Café de la Plage ' in the bend of a street and quite removed from the beach. At a counter inside I asked for a 'bière blonde de pression ' and got a 'Grimbergen blonde ' in its typical goblet. After paying by cash (no credit card, please I took the glass outside. I went here with my son for a quick lunch. I ordered the Calamari and it was really not edible. I eat a lot of seafood so to be told by the waitress is was meant to be like that was a bit of a joke. It was clearly not fresh, possibly frozen judging by the texture and colour of it they also insisted on charging me for it. How to lose a local customer in one hit! I went to this resto a while ago with my husband and son and the food was great and fresh. I think they must have a new team/management as the standard is now terrible. The guy that served us was very friendly and nice, an the set up and terrace also nice.
