California Pizza Kitchen At Otay Ranch Town Center

Fernando and his mustache were fantastic! He was incredibly friendly, did an excellent job explaining the menu, and was wonderful with the kids. I would definitely return just for him. The food was delicious, they surprised the children with a birthday dessert, and everyone had a great time. 10/10!

I had previously given this CPK location a glowing review, but my experience today was quite the opposite. My daughter and I went there for dinner and waited about 20 minutes before being seated. Even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, we went another 15 minutes without being acknowledged by a server. Meanwhile, a family that sat down next to us was approached by a server within a minute to get their drink orders. I’m not sure what caused this disparity in service today, but it’s hard to understand why we had to wait 15 minutes while another party received prompt attention.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant not busy, and I’m grateful for that. Our family of eight was able to order exactly what we wanted without any issues. The staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. I have no complaints regarding the taste or portion sizes of the food. It’s definitely a popular spot for family dining!

We wanted to sit on our request in a quiet part of the restaurant. Probably a bad idea because the table service was usually not present the majority of our meal. When we wanted to pay for our food, we noticed that we were wrongly charged. Instead of charging half salads, we were calculated for whole. We ordered half. We wondered why they seemed bigger than normal. When we left a manager, he asked how our meal was. I said the food was great, but the service could have been better and that they got our order wrong. She immediately asked to see our bill. I thought she would adapt to reflect what we have ordered, but no, she went beyond and beyond and refunded the full price of both salads. I didn't expect that. So 4 stars, for good food, and good customer service resolution. Updated to add: In several later visits (including the last two consecutive visits), several pizzas, which had to be adapted to allergies, were made so wrong and had to be made new, so that people with allergies wait for their food to eat after the rest of their party, or have to go. Disappoint.

The restaurant had a nice, warm ambience. They had indoor/outdoor seating available, but we chose to dine indoors since it was a bit chilly. The food was great: we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, wild mushroom pizza and our little one had the pepperoni pizza. Definitely a nice sit-down environment if you?re looking to satisfy your pizza cravings. We didn?t feel rushed or hurried while we were there, which is always a plus.
