Not only do they have a massive selection of hard ice cream, but there must be 30-40 flavors of soft serve! And so many choices for milkshakes it's hard to choose! In the evenings this place is crazy busy. Day time is a bit more sane. This is a seasonal business - I think they are only open from about the end of May to mid-October. You can get burgers, hotdogs, and the usual fast food fare as well.
Kool Treat has always been a family tradition for us. Whenever we visit the lake, we make sure to stop by for a treat. Every time we go, we receive excellent service and are always treated quickly and respectfully. Be sure to try their KT style poutine - it's fantastic!
AMAZING food!!! WOW! Everything about the visit was excellent.. except the completely ignorant large group ahead of us that paid no attention to what their unruly kids were doing, argued over ice cream & could do no wrong... Really felt bad for the young workers! Highly recommended!!!
Have you ever seen an adult employee yell at a customers child before? I have after going here tonight. We left after watching 2 of the employees get extremely angry and mean to a young boy and his family and will never go back and are telling everyone we know to stay away. The owner needs to get new help as this is horrible for his business. 5 other families left with us after seeing what this people put them through. They would not admit they messed up and ordered and screamed at them that they are always right instead of fixing the situation....horrible horrible place.wish I could give it now stars
You can't go to Christina Lake and not visit Kool Treat. It's a staple. They have a wide selection of ice cream to pick from and each year there's a fun new one for the kids (this years "hot" one was Shark Attack). Prices are ok, seating is outdoors and lots of it. But the feeling you've gone back to the 1950s is worth it.
