Mission Bbq - Christiansburg

My family visits mission bbq as it is one of our favorite spots. the service for eating and customers is always great! last weekend I used them to organize an event. I could no longer have been satisfied with the process and communication. oliver and katrina were on everything from the beginning. highly recommended!

A wonderful chain of bbq eateries. So glad one came to SW VA. Best steak I’ve had in a long time. Even with the plastic cutlery, cuts like butter. Staff is very friendly and full of smiles. Items and condiments are well stocked and organized. Whole place is clean to a T. Very military friendly place. Anytime I’m around one, it’s worth every penny to stop for a good plate of chow.

First time here. Inside or outside eating and the most helpful, friendly staff around. If you like BBQ you will want to return frequently to partake of everything on the menu. There were 3 of us and we had the same brisket sandwiches with mac N cheese as a side with a peach cobbler. The brisket was the flat, next time the point. The Mac N cheese is out of this world. Some of the Best I have ever had. I wish I had the recipe. The Peach cobbler was terrific too. I can't wait to go back.

Had the occasion to be down at VT again in as many weeks and after coming off the awesome bbq meal at Mission from last time frankly, the thought of those mouth watering ribs was still hanging in my brain , I could not NOT go back for more. This time, I was short on time, had to get back on the road AND was trying to beat the dinner crowd on Parent's Weekend! So I placed a to go order by phone around 630PM on a Saturday !! and I was able to jump the line when I got there by USING THE SIDE ENTRANCE FOR PICK UP ORDERS instead of going through the main front entrance and you won't have to wait in that line if there is one ! . There's a separate manned counter just for pick ups. The service was super quick and easy, once again every single worker bar none was friendly, responsive and accommodating. Ask for your side bbq sauces when you pick up your order I overheard that you can purchase sauces separately! Good to know I LOVE the spicy, honey one called TUPELO HONEY HEAT. OMG so good! . Took the bag of food back to the hotel and opened up the box of yummy goodness. This time, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of crispy well done fries in Mission BBQ speak, it's Fries Down . I also ordered TWO of their CARROT CAKE seasonal desserts which I didn't get to try last time I was here because they had sold out of them. Turns out I learned they are switching out their seasonal dessert and that was the last day for carrot cake sad face! Next up: PEACH COBBLER which, no lie, actually sounds just as good and something I will HAVE TO try. YES to ANY fruit or berry cobbler!! Back to the carrot cake soooooo good! Flavorful, moist, and the generous dollop of cream cheese frosting not too sweet, just right was a perfect accompaniment with each cake bite. Check out my pics of my to go order. The pulled pork was piled soooooooo high. GENEROUS PORTIONS OF EVERYTHING no skimping here. Just some really delicious, flavorful down home BBQ, fast efficient service in a super clean, well maintained atmosphere and environment. Say no more!

Had this for the first time today. Man it was awesome. Me and my kid got the 3 meat sampler so we could try all the meats. The smoke flavor was a little light, but man was it tender and juicy. The most shocking thing to me was the Turkey. It was so amazing I was gob smacked. If you've ever cooked a turkey you know how easy it can go from good to so dry in an instant. Also, the sides were amazing. We got the collard greens, green neans with bacon, and mac and cheese. All of those were great. The only reason this is 4 stars is that the pulled pork didn't have a whole lot of flavor, but they do have quite a bit of sauces to flavor it up. But the thing that makes me take my hat off to them is they offer a souvenir cup. Yes it is pricey 5 , but it is more of a donation. These donations change from veterans charities, but ours went to helping veterans get to DC memorials so they can pay their respects to their fallen brothers. Any business that helps veterans is one I gladly support. That's my review and if I was you I'd make it a Mission to make plans on going.
