Native Cafe - Christchurch

An AMAZING place to visit, especially if you love cats! The staff are super friendly and give you a little talk before you enter the cat room about the rules. They have specific times of the day where people with sensory issues can go and visit so they make sure it's quiet and fits the needs. You can get bakery food here and hot/cold drinks that they let you take into the cat room you just have to not let the cats get it! The cats are all super cute and friendly, you let them come to you so they don't get frightened. The cat room was so cool with all the cat towers and the wall of cats they had adopted. They let you take lots of videos and pictures of the cats too! You can even adopt one you admired yourself. My favourite was def Holmes as he looked like he had a little white mustache from the pattern on his face! Bess was incredible too with her gorgeous big eyes. They all were super friendly and I loved meeting all the cats they have movie night/game nights/craft nights with the cats that you can attend you just need to look on their website for the info.

Best place ever! Staff and owners are amazing. Super impressed with the spaces set up for the cats they are just absolutely adorable! ‍ Their food and drinks are delicious (especially the chocolate brownies alternative milks are free of charge which is very appreciated. They sell some great cat toys as well, which my cat has been loving. 10/10 experience every time :

If you're a cat lover and enjoy spending time with furry felines, then visiting a cat café is a great way to spend an afternoon. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The cats at the café were all very well-behaved and seemed to enjoy the company of humans. They were all friendly and approachable, and many of them even came up to me for a quick cuddle. The café had a variety of toys and scratching posts for the cats to play with, which kept them occupied and happy. The café also had a small menu of drinks and snacks available for purchase, which were reasonably priced and tasty.

I absolutely loved it here. I could've easily stayed for longer than the hour! The cats were wonderful, everyone was respectful and quiet around them and it was very clean and fur-less! The staff were super nice and friendly and there was a lot of cat themed gifts in the cafe to purchase. We also got the 2 for 1 deal that runs on Thursday. It was so nice to get a cat-fix while on holidays and lovely to see all those adopted kitties on the wall! If I'm ever in Christchurch again I will be back!

Loved this place! All the cats were having a great time. They came up to you if they wanted, or just slept if they wanted. So chill. If I lived in Christchurch I would be here all the time. Highly recommended!
