Castello Le Bacchus - Cholet

I decided to try this one based on the reviews here. The location is not so great, you have to walk away from the center and walk on an unappealing road. Inside, the restaurant is decent but it does feel a little bit like eating in a shop (at least if you are on the ground floor, the second floor actually looked nicer. The prices are fair and the food is decent, but I expected more based on the reviews. The mozzarella with tomatoes had a real small amount of mozzarella cheese, and was surprisingly served with dried tomatoes rather than fresh ones: it was original and tasty but lacked the freshness you expect from this dish. My girlfriend had the the gnocchi with shrimp which were delicious my dish (pasta with meat balls) was nice but a lot simpler. The service was a combination of very nice and slightly awkward, depending on the person serving. I would probably not come back because I'd rather try places closer to the city center but I think it might be worth a first try for other people, if you're in the area.

Petit restaurant efficace et agréable. Le personnel est accueillant, le nombre de plats proposés est assez réduit mais de qualité, le service est rapide et les prix sont corrects. Il pourrait manquer quelques explications sur la carte (les noms en italiques) pour mieux comprendre le(s) produit(s). L’ambiance est relativement calme et reposante. Nous y retournerons prochainement avec grand plaisir !

Une vraie pépite, nous avons beaucoup aimé (pinsa, gnocchis, pâtes… Bref, nous y retournerons avec plaisir et recommandons ce restaurant.

El restaurante Le Bacchus es un lugar muy agradable donde pasar una larga velada comiendo las especialidades gastronómicas de Pays de la Loire. De apariencia singular, este modesto restaurante mantiene un encanto especial gracias a su decoración y a su situación. La cocina de Le Bacchus está basada en platos tradicionales muy suculentos con los que se te hace la boca agua. La buena mano de sus cocineros ha hecho que el sitio esté casi siempre lleno de gente. El espacio exterior de la terraza es muy agradable si hace buen tiempo. Comer y relajarte es posible en el restaurante Le Bacchus.

Excellent restaurant where we have tasted real Italian dishes, a pleasure! service was very pleasant, the restaurant is very comfortable, especially on the ground! I really recommend, a nice address on cholet.
