Charlie's Sports Grill - Choctaw

We absolutely love Charlie's! I wish we had discovered it years ago. The service is excellent every time we visit, and Desmond is fantastic! Tonight, I had a Buffalo chicken sandwich, and it was delicious. I also had fries with 405 seasoning, which were perfectly crispy and not greasy at all! If you go on a Friday night, the prime rib is also outstanding! Desmond truly is incredible.

Charlie's is an amazing bar located right in the heart of Choctaw. With delicious food, great service, and the fun of SINGO, what’s not to love? Be sure to stop by for a tasty Cobb salad and a refreshing drink. You won’t regret it!

So we took this as a recommendation from a friend to give it a try. Went Monday and they are closed. Went today(Thurs) abt 430. There were 4 people at the bar and a group of 6 ladies back in a corner. I asked for a small booth and she told me everything was reserved except 1 small table which we took. Quite odd so we asked why or what was going on. Our server told us they had some bingo like game but with music and every table was reserved. She said it started around 7. Mind u it was 430. Anyway. We looked over the menu. I ordered a Fan club with okra and my wife ordered the patty melt with onion rings. Our server was very nice. Our food came out in abt 10 mins or so. First thing I noticed with my club was it was on regular toast not texas toast as the menu stated. It was good but not as advertised. The okra was a little oily as it appeared the fryer wasn't hot enough. My wife's patty melt came with large chunks of beef, not the ground meat as a normal patty melt. She had a hard time eating it like a sandwich. It fell apart. The meat was ok as for flavor but really hard to chew. Her onion rings were also oily. Another victim of the fryer tht wasn't ready. It's a bar atmosphere so be prepared for tht. The tables are all around the bar area. Don't think we will be back.

Wife and I stopped in while nearby to watch the OU game few weeks back. We sit ourselves at the bar and the guy that bartending was nice, engaging. The patrons are friendly as well. Many TVs to watch the game with plenty of seating. We didn't care for the wings that we had plus it's seems the menu seems more expensive than other sports bars we normally go.

First impressions matter, and unfortunately, ours was a negative one! We visited from November 3-5, 2023, for a major softball tournament, and the host would not accommodate half of our team’s parents, even though there was space available for us. Another team had booked the area two hours later, but we assured the host we would leave well before that time to return to the fields for our game. Despite this, she still refused to seat us, ultimately missing out on a significant opportunity. This was a big mistake. The softball community is both extensive and tight-knit, and we will definitely not return or recommend this restaurant to any other teams in the future.
