We were for lunch in five persons. Child don't like fizzy drinks so we ordered juice. We have received mixture of the juice with sparkling water. Whan we commented it to service, we got rude answer that this is what we ordered. Than they mix food and insted pasta bolognese we got pasta with tomato sauce. On final bill was also everything up side down and we were charged 5 Euro more. Money was return without apologies... Food was delicious, but service spoiled the food.
In this nice gasthof you can have dinner inside wood barrels but it is necessary to book them in advance. Local food and pizza very good. To try.
We were lucky getting a table without reservation. The waitress was really friendly trying to get us a table. In the end we were seated in the very scenic historical part of the restaurant. It took a while and 2 questions until the last of us 4 got her drink. Food was served still in acceptable time and was ok. Price was also Ok. Beer was local Gassl Braeu and tasty..
I'm not sure how many times I've eaten at this wonderful restaurant. In the old days it was dark and intimate and the tiny barrels that were accessed by little ladders helped create a sense of age and mystery. It didn't really matter how good the food was we felt as though we were eating in a fairyland. Since then the Törgglkeller has expanded to include a large, well lit dining room with massive, well constructed tables and fine details indicative of the level of quality food they produce here. They haven't wandered far off the traditional path, but they put a slightly fresh and modern spin on many of their regional specialties. Their pizza, pasta, dumplings and light sauces spotlight rather than overwhelm. I look forward to my next visit, which, I hope, will be soon!
