The Boxing Hare - Chipping Norton

The Boxing Hare had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the friendly local staff who were incredibly helpful. They took the time to explain different aspects of the menu, which was especially appreciated by my very particular 84-year-old dad. After enjoying a good pint, he was quite satisfied. The food was hot, delicious, and served in generous portions. They even provided amazing bread that was boiled right in their space—so fresh and tasty! What more could we ask for?

The food was excellent, but we probably won't return until we hear that the service has improved. Our table was reserved for 7:15, but we waited an hour before we could place our order, and then another hour before our food arrived. To be fair, a few people in our group were 15 minutes late, and we apologized since we know that can cause issues for the staff. However, we would have appreciated some acknowledgment or apology for the delay. By the time the dessert menu arrived, it felt too late for us to order dessert, which was disappointing because we all agreed that the food was outstanding.

The food was really good. Unfortunately, the restaurant's front was a bit chaotic that day. It seemed like they might have been a little short-staffed.

Very pleasant meal of the twice cooked cheese soufflé was amazing as the fish soup - it is hard to impress my man and he said he would go again only for the suppe! I love the Chilean merlot very nice.

Exceptional food...everything we tried over the course of two dinners was memorable.
