The Winchester Goose - Chico

We had gone hiking with our friends and our 9 month old (all older kids left at home and after 10 miles we were STARVED! We had tried to go to Sierra Nevada, but they were closed for Superbowl, then another tap house but they wouldn't let us in with a 9 month old due to the conditions on their license. Literally felt like no one was ever going to feed us. BWAHAHAHAHAHA (SOB JUST TAKE MY MONEY! We ended up here and they were cool about the baby (damn baby! . Obviously this place is more of a bar than a restaurant, but they did have quite a few creative food items. I think we ordered almost one of everything on the menu and it was all DELICIOUS! And actually really nicely plated too, which I thought was a nice thought for bar food. The favorite by far was the pickled eggs. Don't think you'll like them? Well you are WRONG! I am not sure what kind of magic is in the pickling, but they were slightly sweet, tart, and ADDICTIVE! Oh yeah, and the beer selection was exactly what we wanted. A wide array of selections, which works because in our group we have high IBU lovers all the way to myself, the Imperial Stout queen. I will say that I was quickly reminded how not cool I am anymore. Being in my mid thirties (and having a baby in the bar I was a far cry off from the teeny hipster chicks with facial piercings. The dudes too were all super well coiffed (and HOT! . Ah, enjoy my young ones! Age chases us all! In a few years you will be me trying to breast feed a baby in a bar while juggling your fresh pour ;

Very cool little pub. Great selection of beer and friendly service. I enjoy lighter beers; I had the mango blonde. Very refreshing. My husband had the Moonraker IPA loved it were his exact words. The wood bar is beautiful, worth a stop in just to see it.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Every time I've come here I've had a great experience. The bartenders are very friendly. The food is the best pub fare I've ever had and the place is very clean. As a dog parent, I'm always happy to see establishments being kind and allowing behaved furry friends in the door. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a mellow place to have a good pint.

Winchester goose is a bar we usually only go to if we know certain beers are on tap there. It 'c cool that they allow dogs, which I didn 't know, but I can 't get over the hipster vibe. I feel like I need a waxy mustache or a septum piercing to be looked at normally. I could be reading too much in to it, but I feel really out of place there. I gave them four stars anyway because they do offer some really rare and unique beers and the service has never been bad. I just can 't bring myself to dress like a hipster at 30. Also google the meaning of Winchester Goose it 's a very unappetizing name for a place that serves food and drink : P

This place offers a fantastic variety of beers, and the friendly, laid-back service makes it even better. I just wish I could enjoy their delicious snacks on a Monday night! Alec has the best playlist around, and the staff here restores my faith in humanity. If you’re not impressed by the decor, both Ron Swanson and I would happily chuckle at your lack of appreciation for fine craftsmanship and great people. Speaking of great people, I met Lucas today, and I feel like I’ve learned enough to almost become a brewmaster! I tried to describe the kind of beer I liked in the most vague way, and they kept asking questions until I discovered my new favorite: Juiced Above the Clouds. There’s never a shortage of engaging conversation here. The fact that dogs are welcome makes me trust this bar more than any other in town. I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet, but yes, I’m that person who insists this is my favorite salad (you absolutely must try the beer comb). The kitchen offers an adventurous menu with intriguing specials that are both impressive and mouth-watering. I give five stars to the service, which I believe is the best in town. These folks know how to keep customers coming back!
