Contribuiți la feedbackCalled in for a lunch whilst passing but if doing so again I would pass by and find an alternative. I ordered baked ham which was quite dry and my companion ordered roast chicken which comprised of two pieces of anaemic looking, tasteless, small drumsticks and thighs. The vegetables were equally disappointing. The meals did not warrant the price.
Lunch for 2 adults and children. Disappointing and poor value for money. Asked if we could have bacon sandwich for our granddaughter rather than a BLT.. a definite yes. 2 slices thin white bread and minimum very well cooked bacon. Fish finger sandwich same 2 slices thin white bread with salad garnish.. packet fish fingers not fresh fish. Complained when given bill as charged full BLT price. Apparently our fault for not having the full item from the menu. Reduced to £8 which is still a huge over price. Triple cooked chips £4.25 … actually frozen fries. We appreciate the need to pay a fair price, this was so overpriced! Don’t go out for lunch to be made to feel like we were Shouldn’t be made to feel like we were .. certainly not what it used it be … will never return and would not recommend it to anyone.
Nice interior, friendly service, good selection of beers and ales as one would expect from Fullers, but the food ordered at 3.00 p.m on Sunday afternoon was just average. In fact, trying to find something other than sweet treats in Petworth was very hard. I had baked mushrooms with some salad leaves. The dish was very greasy as in addition to cheese there was too much dressing. The dish appeased my hunger but was disappointing.
On arrival at around 1pm we were told there was a wait for 45min for food and that some choices were off the menu. Thought about going elsewhere and wished we had to be honest. It turned out that around 30-40% of the menu wasn 't available and so with limited choice i ordered something i wouldn 't normally and my wife had 'catch of the day '. The menu was priced a little high ie £18 for fish and chips. Really? Sometime after ordering i was informed that the dauphinoise potatoes from my choice were not available and that i would get roast potatoes! So i had limited choice to start with and then a make do meal. What?? My venison was just luke warm and my wife was quite disappointed with her fish dish. All in all a spur of the moment treat for us was an expensive and disappointing one. The staff didn 't ask how the meals were with opportunities to do so. I believe they knew the meals were not of value and were afraid to ask. A real shame.
Went in around 15.00 for 2 Sunday Roasts, couldn't of wanted for a better meal in a better environment. Smart, clean tasteful old school pub restaurant with friendly, warm helpful staff. Looks small from the outside but cleverly extended inside with a sympathetic nod to the age style of the building. Highly recommended place if in Petworth.
