Wise Owl Drinkery Cookhouse - Chicago

It was a Wednesday night, and my friend and I were feeling a bit bored, so we decided to check out this place. There was a decent crowd for a weekday, which was a good sign. The bartender was funny, attentive, and engaging, which made the experience even better. I had just finished work, so I invited my friend to join me. The atmosphere was really cool, and the food was delicious! We enjoyed the wings and fondue, and I had a blackberry cider that was delightful. The bar featured blue lighting and was quite long, creating a very welcoming vibe. I loved the glass with the eels in it! Overall, it’s a great spot, and I’ll definitely come back on a weekend!

Wonderful place with delicious food and fantastic staff. It's conveniently located right next to the autobahn, making it very accessible.

Arrived for lunch and was the only table there. Odered some drinks and food. Played Pacman while waiting for drinks and then the food arrived. The mac and cheese was good, jalapeños poppers where good, the problem was my owl burger I received a plain burger with no cheese. I don 't understand if there was miscommunication from waitress to kitchen or whatever, but we where the only one table there, the waitress didn 't even check if everything was ok. She just said everything is ok right from afar. I dislike when wait staff lack the customer service. Bad service ! Will not visit again.

My 1st visiting Wise Owl was yesterday June 18, 2020 , once we arrived the gentleman told us it would about an hour wait for a table we could wait inside the bar. Which was fine while at the bar we ordered shots while reviewing the drink menu we noticed they had a Thursday special for Hennessy margaritas we ordered 4 only to have the bartender tell us that it’s too much working making them he already has an order for 15 of them can we get something else. I was totally shocked like dude your a bartender that’s your job! So we told him fine we can wait for the drink after all we are still waiting for our table then he replied I just don’t feel like making them it’s way to much work. After that me my party just left because that is just bad customer service. Not sure if I will ever visit them again.

I had a great experience at the restaurant, and the service was wonderful. However, the food was disappointing. I ordered a well-made cheeseburger, but instead received a medium-quality hamburger that lacked seasonal flavor. I even took a bite of my girlfriend’s burger, and it tasted like low-quality meat. I prefer my steak rare, so perhaps I have high standards when it comes to meat. Overall, I was let down by the food.
