Contribuiți la feedbackOrdered the chicken Chettinad with saffron cashew rice plus a plain nan. Authentic taste and spice levels just right. Huge portion and the chicken dish came with plain rice anyway.
Last time they missed adding 3 out of 4 naan’s in my package and this time I had to wait about 30 mins after my scheduled pickup time at the store for them to give me my order. They kept telling everyone waling in that it’s taking time for the breads but I didn’t even have any bread in my order. Ridiculous behavior. There were at-least 10 people waiting for food past delivery times that were given to them and some doordash and other app delivery workers even mentioned that food here is never ready on time. The host had audacity to say to other patrons that you can go make the food yourself then we only have 3 people working. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Truly top notch Indian food. The chicken biryani was the best I've had. Samosa are really good, slightly different than what you often get. Hard to go wrong.
It's hard to find a good Indian restaurant. When the food is expensive (and let's face it, Indian food has become expensive! Especially when they charge you for rice and naan on top of the $18-$22 entree!! you want to get good food. Vajra is great Indian food. It is not too spicy (my husband can't handle it but it has good flavor.. and sometimes Indian restaurants can't separate the two: SPICY does not equal FLAVOR. Vajra is able to do this and to top it off their meats are soft and tender. I hate paying $60 for chewy meat. Also, their meats are cooked into the sauces which is important bc then it is a dish, a lot of Indian restaurants have their sauces and then just dump their meats into the sauce minutes before you get it served and you can tell the difference! Their Tikka Masala is great, their biriani is excellent and their samosas are delicious. This is the Indian food that Chicago has been needing. Can't wait to go back!
Nothing special your standard “American” Indian food. They clearly cut costs by using the same spice base for all the dishes dishes mostly taste the same as a result. You won’t see very many Indians eating here, for good reason. Save your money and go elsewhere, where you’ll pay much lower prices for similar low quality Indian food.
