The Fireplace Inn - Chicago

I used to visit frequently many years ago and brought my children along several times. We enjoyed the world-famous ribs, as well as the brown rice and steamed vegetables.

This was my first visit back in years, and I was pleasantly surprised. Parking has always been a challenge, but this time it was manageable. Our server, Kate S., was very attentive and made our experience enjoyable. The cook also did a great job with the presentation of our meals. Based on this dining experience and the excellent preparation of our food, I will definitely return!

Thursdays are a treat with half-priced 32oz and 44oz Vodka Lemonades! The mini sloppy joes and onion rings are fantastic.

Our recent visit to this place left me with mixed feelings. Last time we dined here, the food was fabulous! However this time, it fell below expectations. The house salad was disappointing- it included a modest amount of lettuce, a quarter of a tomato, and a few carrot shavings. The ribs didn’t quite hit the mark either. On the brighter side, my husband found the Habanero Mango Chicken enjoyable. Plus, the service was top-notch.

I've spent many years enjoying drinks and various shenanigans at FP Inn, and I must say, when it comes to bar food, it's excellent. The portions are quite generous as well. A big shoutout to the cooks and everyone involved in making it all happen!
