Tanuki Sushi Grill - Chicago

Went to Tanuki on a whim with my friend and we both had a great time! It was a bit busy, however, was still amazing! It is BYOB, so if you want to grab a drink, do it before. The service was great, even though they were swamped with orders and such. The Salmon Aloha and Tuna Tartare were our apps and they were amazing. Everything was so fresh and absolutely amazing! We also got two sushi rolls which were fantastic! I highly recommend checking out this place and stopping in!

I've always walked past Tanuki without trying it, but last week I finally stopped in, and I was incredibly impressed! The spicy miso soup was the best I've ever had—I loved it so much that I ordered a second bowl. As a sushi lover, I can say this was some of the freshest sushi I've enjoyed in quite a while. The rolls are thinly wrapped in rice, which allows the flavors to shine through without the rice being too dominant. I adored all the sushi I tried, but the Philadelphia salmon roll stood out with its deliciously succulent texture and a subtle hint of smokiness. I'm already craving that spicy miso soup and their maki rolls again! I can't wait to explore more items on their menu; everything sounds so tempting. The service was a bit slow, but my server was very attentive, and it was definitely worth the wait! I'm sure I'll be back for more.

The service and food at this restaurant are outstanding. We made a reservation and chose from the special menu for Chicago Restaurant Week. I couldn't finish all the dishes, but I really wanted to because they were that good! The highlight was the tuna poke with guacamole and chips—it might sound unusual, but the flavors worked together perfectly. Additionally, the miso soup is served in a generous mug, and it was absolutely delightful.

Fantastic service and delicious food! We ordered six different maki rolls, and each one was incredibly fresh and flavorful. It was my sister's birthday, and the staff really went above and beyond to make her feel special by providing a handwritten card at her place setting and treating us to complimentary mochi with a candle to blow out. I will definitely be returning and recommending this place to everyone!

I had my birthday dinner at Tanuki sushi with large group of people and we loved everything. Sushi was fresh, well decorated, asian hot dishes were also very tasty. I also liked the vibe and music, everyone who worked there was super friendly. Recommend to everyone who likes sushi and asian food. It’s a gem in the neighborhood
