Summer House Santa Monica - Chicago

The food here is a good American staple, consistent but not spectacular. The service is a hit or miss depending on staff there that day. As a lot of lettuce restaurants, always packed and has a good neighborhood (and broader chicago) set of loyalists which can make it difficult to get reservations. Their entire decade or so history though has been filled with questionable management hostess seating decisions, which is where I knock it the most

Super cute spot for brunch! Great environment as well as excellent food. We got the Mexican hash browns and breakfast tostados split. I will say I liked the breakfast tostados more. The hash was slightly different than I was expecting, so would get something different next time. Lemon cookie was a bit cakie if you like your cookies that way.

Bryan was great. We had the vodka pasta, bruschetta, wine, calamari. He did great handling a group of 7. Thank you for accommodating us last minute. The food atmosphere is always great here.
