Contribuiți la feedbackI am still on the hunt for a true New York-style pizza in Chicago. Unfortunately, Paulie Gee's doesn't quite hit the mark. My suggestion to the owner would be to add more flavor to the sauce by using Nina tomatoes or a paste-ready option, and to incorporate olive oil, oregano, and sugar without pre-cooking the sauce. For the cheese, I recommend using Grande brand full milk mozzarella with some quality Parmesan. They should rename it the New York Cheese Slice and I guarantee it will become their bestseller. This is the recipe used by popular NYC pizza joints like Joe's and Prince Street Pizza. My next stop in Chicago was Cafe Luigi, but it also fell short of my New York pizza expectations.
The pizza at this restaurant is fantastic. It's as close to authentic New York style pizza as you can get without actually being in NYC, and I live in NYC.
During my weekend in Chicago, I had the pleasure of dining at Paulie Gee's, which was a definite highlight of my trip. As a fan of Paulie Gee, I was eager to try his pizza and I was not disappointed. I made the drive to Logan Square just to taste the "Logan Zaddy" pizza, which was honestly one of the best pizzas I have ever had. It was so good that I couldn't resist going back for another slice the next day. The staff was friendly and laid-back, making for a great dining experience. I will definitely be returning to Paulie Gee's on my next visit to Chicago, and until then, I will be dreaming of that delicious, perfect triangle of pizza. Thank you, Paulie Gee!
Best NY-style pizza I ever had, and also very economical!
Idk what kind of pizza it was. It had some kind of sauce drizzled on top but I ate a slice of it and have felt nauseous for a couple hours now. It tasted pretty good but feels not very good
