Humboldt Haus Sandwich - Chicago

My go-to in Chicago for sandwiches... Life doesn't get better than a Haus Turkey with westider sauces! Daily fresh baked bread with fresh ingredients to match... soooo good!!!

Ordered the 606. Partially because it was BOGO on Uber Eats. The bun was soft, moist, and a bit chewy. Good job there. The egg was warm and the yolk was nice and runny. Again, good job. But, holy God! Hold back on the thyme! After both of the pluses I mentioned, all I could taste, and can still taste fifteen minutes after eating it, is an abundance of thyme.

Need to start by saying this used to be my favorite bar to come to, as well as sandwich spot. But ever since their renovations , the amazing bar (with the best regulars) is closed , and now all that’s open is a sort of “modern” looking cafe next door. The service is worse , more crowded , and empty and LOUD. There was a woman in here talking loudly and it was so reverby and echoey In there I couldn’t hear myself think. Really looking forward to when they open the bar again , it will be 5 stars again .

Amazing sandwiches and a unique selection of sodas.

Amazingly delicious sandwiches. Tons of chip options. Reasonably priced drinks. Definitely a local watering hole where everyone seems to know each other. Friendly staff.
