Hugo Tea Space - Chicago

We booked a private tea tasting and had a really good time. The host was incredibly knowledgeable and up for answering all questions related to tea. We feel like we really got our moneys worth in education and tasting. We were able to try 12 different teas in total at 3 different intensities: white, oolong, green, black, smoked, fermented, matcha, herbal, and tea flowers, either Japanese or Chinese. We were more adventurous so we tried a lot of different ones, but they tailor it toward your preferences. Dress warm as it is super drafty with the windows and tall ceilings. They won't be doing it for much longer so get in there and try it before it's too late.

My favorite tea shop. I love taking friends here or going by myself and WFH to enjoy the individual tea session. Favorites are the Champagne Long Kou and the Ma Wei Needles teas. The teatenders are so friendly and helpful especially with guiding us through the extensive tea menu! The mango mousse cake is also delicious.

I was so excited for this place after seeing the photos and reviews, but unfortunately it fell short of my expectations : my matcha latte came out to $7.17, which is definitely on the pricy end. I don't mind paying for a good matcha latte, but this drink was way overpriced for what it was. I could barely taste the matcha it felt like I was just drinking iced oat milk. There were actually also still chunks of matcha in my drink too. Overall, the drink was not worth it, and definitely not at that price point.Review is based on to go

Beautiful tea cafe with a huge selection of Asian teas! Grab a table, settle in and enjoy a hot cup of matcha while reading your favorite book. Special shout-out to the staff; they were especially friendly and thoughtful

The best experience I had while visiting Chicago! I went solo and had such a good time. The staff is very friendly and I loved the rose tea a lot. I recommend this place, it’s very different and cute vibes all over
