House Of Wah Sun - Chicago

After two years of saying I would, I finally visited this restaurant! I love the exterior; it looks like it’s come straight out of a time capsule. Plus, it’s great that there’s free parking in the lot. We were seated immediately upon arrival, which was nice. The menu is quite extensive, as you would expect from a traditional Chinese restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of tropical cocktails and a selection of beers, many from China. I especially enjoyed the fun tiki glassware for the cocktails and the Buddha-shaped bottle for my Lucky Buddha beer. Based on reviews, I had to try an egg roll, and it was as huge as everyone mentioned. I also ordered the Hot and Sour soup, which was delicious. The General Tso’s chicken was crispy and had just the right amount of heat. Each table is also served a carafe of tea, which I appreciated. Overall, my experience was positive. The service was quick, though not overly friendly. The food was good, the drinks were enjoyable, and the prices were reasonable. I can definitely see myself returning here.

Five stars! We ordered food for delivery last night, and it was a fantastic experience. The meal arrived hot and beautifully packaged. We ordered three dishes: a large vegetable fried rice, cumin lamb, and chicken curry with onions. The freshness of the ingredients was outstanding, and each dish provided what I would call two generous portions. Our fridge is well-stocked for tomorrow night! I will definitely be a regular customer.

We started with the pot stickers as an appetizer, and they were tasty with a nice flavor, though a bit too much dough for my liking. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, which was delicious, and my friend tried the General Tso's chicken and enjoyed it as well. The prices were fantastic, the portions were huge, and the service was friendly.

Love this restaurant! Food is great, portions are huge, prices are fair, service is great and the atmosphere music and tea they serve when you dine in are awesome! Surprisingly the only thing I don’t like is their fortune cookies they are a bit stale and don’t taste as the ones I’ve had in every other Chinese restaurant.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. We went just before closing and the friendly staff accommodated us. Cool decor and lit well, recommend for date night OR family.
