Gyu Kaku Chicago, Il Lakeview

Server was great, but host/ manager was unprofessional. have made a reservation for 2:45 clock at 3:30 o'clock place. I understand it was a little busy. there were 5 reservations waiting for her table. if they can't take people to the right time, please close the open table until they can find space.

Wonderful experience. the meats were delish. could come together a funny date at night or group. service felt a little rushed a bar is not comprehensive. had no ingredients for a manhattan or gin martini.

We have been to Gyu-Kaku many times but this is the first time we dined in here. The service is horrible. We ordered the meat lover and it took 40 minutes before they actually brought only 2 plates of meat out . This was around 9:40pm, there was not a lot of people). They also ran out of the sushi dish that included in the meat set so they offered to substitute it for pickled cucumber or another order of Japanese fried chicken. Also, we ordered 2 set of beef tongue and after a hour, the waitress said that she doesn’t know how long it’s going to take to defrost??? We asked for an estimate and she said “the kitchen doesn’t know either.” Yet, the table sitting next to ours that came in the same time with us has their beef tongue order??? We upgraded our rice with beef, guess what we got, white rice. The Japanese fried chicken substitution never came out either! We have never had this kind of experience before. I would not recommend this location.
