Graces African - Chicago

Lovely place, excellent meals! Seems to be recently rebranded to 'The New Grace Restaurant '. Besides the really great customer service, the food is excellent. If you 're a lover of authentic Ghanaian dishes, you should definitely make time to check this place out! For our first time here, we tried 'banku and tilapia ' and 'banku with okro stew ' ... Definitely coming back to try the rest! Highly recommended.

The staff was quiet, but very friendly and the food was pretty good. I had a friend in middle school who I used to go home with after school and she always had awesome African food. I haven't seen her in years or had those meals since, but I saw on Grace African Restaurant's menu that they had some of the same recipes my friend used to make for me. I knew I had to go and try that food again after all these years. It was just an awesome meal and a trip down memory lane for me. I recommend this place!

Of course it’s me again, with some more Waakye. This is a must when I go to Ghanaian restaurants. Grace’s African Restaurant did not fail me with this delicious tasting Waakye.

I found this hidden gem by chance after moving to the neighborhood, and it turned out to be a fantastic spot for authentic Ghanaian cuisine. The food is freshly made to order, so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but trust me, it's worth it. I highly recommend trying the turkey tail as an appetizer and the Fufu with goat as a main dish. Just a heads up, the food here has a delightful spicy kick to it.
