Friends Sushi On State - Chicago

First we were the only one in there on a Saturday. As we arrived it seemed like the host was surprised we were there and we were inconveniencing his day. We ordered a couple of rolls which were good. The tempura udon was ok but the tempura shrimp and veggies were like they came frozen. It wasn’t tempura at all. There was no other person that came while we were there. It was a place to eat but not an experience at all. I wouldn’t go back. It was a disappointing start to an anniversary day.

Ormyfuckinggasm ... Food excellent, drinks excellent, atmosphere excellent, service excellent, bathrooms excellent. I've found my happy place. Anything with lychee is WONDERFUL!!Food: 5/5

Solid Japanese food in Chicago. Enjoyed the chicken teriyaki and miso soup. The salmon skin maki was a bit off, as the salmon skin itself did not have the right texture.
