Cocula Restaurant - Chicago

I ordered CAMARONES AL MOJO DE AJO, I got CAMARONES A LA PLANCHA. To fix this I was given a bowl of fried garlic in a bowl of oil. I was deeply disappointed that this was proper corrected. I was entertaining 3 guests who has never been there so I ate what I was given because I did not want to create an issue. 1) I don't like shrimp with the shell still on it. 2) the shrimp was dried out, and stuck to the shell which was a pain to remove the meat from. 3) the shrimp was cold, it did not come fresh off the grill. I have been going to Cocula for a couple of decades, this was the 1st I ever had an issue. Deeply Deeply Disappointed!!!

Jorge is a great server. He greats me well and he is always friendly. Every time I come here a request him. He is a great server and very friendly.

My boyfriend loooved the caldo de camarones. I had the Cancun meal with chicken enchilada, steak taco, and beef tostada. Overall really good. Horchata was tasty too!

We went to celebrate my daughter's 15th bday with a total of 24 of us this past Tuesday evening and we had great service, good food and enjoyed to the fullest. We avoided the busy weekend, not too many customers during the week. I called the restaurant the day before letting them know there will be 24 of us in case they needed to staff up. We had some appetizers and 4 parrilladas. I was able to bring my daughter's cake. The evening was absolutely perfect. Family and friends showed up at 7:15pm and we finally left at 10:30pm their closing time. We were so relaxed. I want to thank Coculas Restaurant, Jose Alfredo and everyone on the team for making this a great evening for familia and friends. Definitely we will be back soon.
