Brown Sugar Bakery - Chicago

I arrived a bit late and they were out of the whole caramel cake, but they did have slices available. I ended up getting a dozen caramel cupcakes, and they were very good!

Their caramel cake is soooooo delicious. I’ve tried others and they’re great too but the caramel is my favorite next to red velvet.

I hadn't visited in over five years, and my recent experience was just okay. I ordered a few appetizers and had a couple of walk-ins. I do recall having an issue during my visit, but it was resolved to my satisfaction. I used to love how they would slice the cake fresh with each order, but now the cake slices are prepackaged, which was quite disappointing for me. Also, the icing was lacking. There should be enough frosting on the cake that I can pick some up with my finger without disturbing the cake itself. When you cut corners, you end up losing customers.

Stop baking birthday cakes one week before Christmas

I've been a fan of this bakery ever since I moved to the area. Miss Stephanie and her team are consistently amazing. I won't even mention the cake—if you haven't tried it, you're genuinely missing out on a fantastic experience!
