I participated in a private event here and was able to try out their private tasting menu. I left the place feeling full. Course 1 (Crown toro hamachi): this was an interesting idea on paper but I thought the execution wasn't great. Beautiful presentation but flavors felt lacking. More acid or salt would've added much more depth. The fish itself didn't taste fresh. I also wish the citrusy notes of the calamansi were stronger since I could barely taste it. Course 2 (kabocha squash bisque): absolute masterpiece served in such a cute cup. The soup was beautifully creamy with a mildly sweet taste and a slight tang possibly from tomato. The crunchy fried onion bits and the trout roe added great textural intrigue. I loved the brilliant combination of smoked trout and the roe to add umami ness to the soup. Best dish of the night for me. Intermission (Iranian saffron fettuccine): this dish was served family style and they made sure everyone had a loaded plate of this delicious goodness. My table had 6 people and we got 2 huge plates pictured to share. Fettuccine was perfectly al dente, coated with an incredibly creamy sauce. The saffron aroma was very (pleasantly) present. The bacon, pecorino, and cured duck yolk each provided its own unique texture but worked together beautifully to create incredibly flavorful bites. Course 3 (braised lamb shoulder): tender lamb with a nice kick from the harissa. Fresh dill as garnish was definitely a plus. A solid dish but nothing remarkable Palate cleanser: I really enjoyed this. The passion fruit sorbet wasn't too sweet. The prosecco gelee was such a great texture addition. Very refreshing and fun. Course 4 (earl grey creme brulee): another excellent flavor combination I wish I came up with. However, this was way too sweet for me. The tartness of the pomegranate helped but I went through all of them within the first 3 bites. The creme brulee was also stiff at the edges, a tell tale sign of being overcooked. I couldn't eat more than half of this dish. Goodbye bite (warm valrhona chocolate cookie): it wasn't warm. Very crunchy. Arguably one of the worst cookies I have ever had.
Absolutely outstanding. Food, service, atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back.
We ordered the short rib, the burger, and the steak frites and everything was superb. Excellent intimate upscale establishment in Edgewater.
The food was so flavorful with lots of complexity and deliciousness.
