Khao Tom Charoenchai - Chiang Rai

Delicious, cheap and fast services. every dish is just great. I visited this place for dinner 2 times the week while I was in chiang mai. they can just park a long road.

Stumble to this hidden gem as all eatery seems close. Lots of local and tourist dine here. This is what chinese will know as teochew porridge style of eatery. Mainly order small portion of ready made side dishes and white porridge to go with it. I agreed that its abit doggy as there is no price written on the menu, but the price is reasonably cheap as compared to other places i have eaten and it taste good.

The best rice restaurant in town so far. Friendly and efficient service and how can u complain about the price??? 22/11/21 After 2 years, I came back here on a Sat night to buy take aways and frankly I came away quite disappointed with the pork stew as well as the greens. I’m downgrading them to a 2 until I decide to eat here again. Ok, have eaten here twice since and i think a 3 star is fair. Food matches the price. I’m here in CR longer term than just passing trade and its one of the few rice shops that are opened at night. I eat here for survival, not for pleasure.

We came here after our tour. Some dishes were great others were just ok. My favorites were the young sprouts (not sure what veggie), the eggplant with ground pork, and the fried omlette (though this got greasy fast). The meats were a bit in the dry side. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and easy to find. We sat on street level outside of the restaurant. I don't knew if that's a regular table or they set it up specially since we were a large group. We heard that you need to make reservations at least 2 hours prior to when you want to come in to eat.

Local food in Chiangrai town. The stir-fried vegetable is good. Unfortunately, the chicken at the day I ordered was not fresh.
