It is one of the newer additions to the Whole Foods empire of markets in the DC metropolitan area, but in that sense, you always know what to expect. You can park here for free, take the Metro, walk or bike. Many options abound. There is a cafe as soon as you walk in for some coffee and beverages. There is also the usual hot and cold food bars as you continue past the produce- lots of good veg*n choices at the expected Whole Foods prices. Since the choices in Friendship Heights can be overwhelming with the non-veg*n focused eateries, Whole Foods does provide some comfort for the veg*n. Also, there is a large eating/ sitting area past the registers here, so that it makes for a nice place to eat as far as Whole Foods Markets go for eating areas. The ingredients are clearly marked, which is great, including identifying most dishes/ choices that are vegan at the food bars. In terms of your produce here, it's great, fresh and at a reasonable price for this area of organic and natural foods. Wait for the sales and stock up on what you can for produce. The Whole Foods brands are relatively affordable for staple ingredients for the pantry, but there are also many choices for bulk foods (nuts galore, granola, nut butters, oils, grains, beans, legumes, sweeteners, spices, dried fruits, chocolate items, salts, etc. that are not available at some other Whole Foods locations in the area. Standards national brands of non-perishables are also fairly represented here at expected prices. I like this one better than most others in the area because of their ready-to-eat food choices, eating area, open-feeling produce area and bulk selection.
Upon entering, I was instantly reminded of home and shopping with my mom and grandma. The atmosphere was familiar and comforting, with bustling activity and clean surroundings. Overall, it was a great experience.
The produce section may not have a vast variety, but it is adequate for picking up miscellaneous items. The aisles are well-stocked and items are easy to locate, although the store can feel a bit crowded at certain times. The checkout lines are well-managed and fast. I would suggest visiting this location instead of the one near Tenleytown metro if you are just stopping by.
Whole Foods Market is a beautiful market, all their locations are beautiful. I love beautiful spaces, and good food. I like the organic produce sales, and the top quality foods they sell. The employees treat me like a friend should be treated They say a familiar Hi to me when I visit. I watch the workers to see if they are happy and are permitted to be their unique selves. With my Whole Foods report card, I can check that box as well. The workers are unique and diverse. The workers smile with each other and with the customers. Although, all locations are different, you feel right at home. While you eat delicious food, you can watch television at some locations. When there is a game on, special foods are prepared for the event. On Holidays, the prepared foods section doesn 't disappoint. Even summertime favorites, like a variety of Cole Slaws and summer salads are available for every diet, from traditional to vegan. They all taste good too. Jewish people can get kosher foods there, as well. The items are clearly marked Kosher . Over the years, Whole Foods Market has been like an old friend. Always there, familiar faces, welcoming statements, and kind gestures. The cashiers recognize that you have been there before, and they greet you as a familiar person. I brought my mother to this market, because it is welcoming and safe. I 've tried foods I have never tried before, because I felt the food was safe enough to eat. Whole Foods Market has a lot of good quality health items in their Whole Body section, and an eco-friendly section of clothing that changes with the seasons. Don 't miss out, go for a visit and make it a part of your life. You won 't regret it. I highly recommend Whole Foods Market. Warmest regards, Judea Lawton, Washington, DC.
This Whole Foods location is good. There is parking available at the back of the building, and they validate. It appears to be generally busy whenever I visit.
