An excellent place to enjoy an exquisite dinner and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff with the best disposition, always with a smile to us, highly recommended.
Service was extremely friendly. Restaurant layout was that of a traditional and slightly upscale brasserie. Food quality is the only reason of the low review. We ordered the most sad and pathetic cheese board for $22. Image below. No meat, no olives. Slimy cheese, rotten grapes, and sriacha sauce on a cheese board? Like what? Anyway, ordered the poivre which was absolutely delicious, but was listed as $MP. It was $56 for a hamburger, the price should have been listed considering the only other expensive entree was around $36. I should have confirmed, but sneaky on their end nonetheless. The green onions were undercooked and I Al’s it choked multiple times. Dad ordered Lapin, a few bites, extremely under seasoned and dry, basically was a bowl of bad pasta for $30. Mom ordered a mashed potato and veggie dish with so much butter it was sickening to finish. Overall low quality and extremely overpriced. Go to La Voile in Boston instead.
I have been to this location of Aquitaine several times in the past Always had the steak frite and very happy with it. This time I ordered coq au vin, the other people ordered the same or the sole meuniere. The coq au vin was completely tasteless. Hospital food tastes better than this. The sole was under cooked I recommend they reconsider the chef
We went in for dinner one day, and while the food was not bad, the experience in particular, the service was so bad that we definitely will not consider going back.I should have guessed how this was headed when the good looking amuse bouche was a chewy, tasteless and plasticky piece of warmed up cheese bread. The mussels and the duck L’Orange were good. Escargot was alright as was the French onion soup. The profiterole was a mixed bag because the chocolate sauce was fantastic but the choux pastry and the ice cream inside the profiterole made it somewhat super market grade . Everything was about 25% over priced for what we got. Drinks at $17 for example did not seem to make sense at all. In the end, we waited 18 minutes to pay our check. This in a day and age where a QR code can finish everything off in a minute seems inexcusable.I think in Balance it is that little bit of additional attention to detail that makes this place an average one while it definitely has the potential potential to become a reasonably good eatery. Parking: Lots of space all around
