Morrison's Cafe Chesterfield

Not sure why but I think they are going down hill rapidly! They used to be really good but not now I’m afraid and this seems to apply to all of them and not just this one! But this is the one I am reviewing today! I cannot see how you can expect somebody to have a table number when you have no idea where you will be sitting before you have ordered your food? We “picked” a number and then found somebody had sat at that table before we managed to get to the table before placing our order what a stupid system! What happened to you were given a number when you placed your order? Much better idea! The food when it came was luck warm at best.. I had toast which I would say was cold the reason I guess because my husband had a bacon and egg sandwich so I guess the toast was hanging around until the sandwich was ready! But it was cold when delivered to me. I asked when the sandwich was delivered if we could have some sauce and was asked what kind do you want! It was thrown at me when it came! I understand the staff are under pressure but the staff in there certainly did not seem very happy in their job! I’m not always happy when I do my job but my clients would never know! I only saw two members of staff working in there and if that is the case no wonder they didn’t look very happy far too much for them to cope with. Morrisons need to pull their finger out and get the cafes sorted because they used to be really good but they are now pretty rubbish serving poor food and poor service

Gone downhill the chips were under done , the curry was only like a cheap TV dinner type. The pie peas and chips was poor quality pie.

We ordered two regular breakfasts and two coffees at the café, which was not very busy. Despite being told there would be a 15-minute wait, we expected the food to be freshly cooked and piping hot. Unfortunately, the breakfasts were lukewarm and the toast was cold. We were also disappointed to learn that they no longer offer refillable coffees, even though the coffee machine was easily accessible in the main area of the restaurant. We ended up paying £4 for two lukewarm coffees. It has been a while since we dined at a Morrisons café, but based on this experience, we will not be returning as we found it to be poor value.

Easy to order, variety of foods, waiting time is a little longer than I would of liked but couldn’t complain for value. Especially with 50% off.

Brought the grandchildren twice this week for tea as it worked out cheaper than cooking. The server Val was amazing with the kids. Brought their food out first( which rarely happens) talked to them and made sure we all had everything we needed. Amazing lady thank you
