Crossroads Cafe - Chesterfield

I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for almost every Sunday (usually with two others), but we did not come for the friendly or welcoming atmosphere, as there was none to be found. However, we cannot fault the Sunday dinners. On one occasion, I ordered three meals to take home, only to be told that they only accepted cash. I explained that I only had Apple Pay on my phone as I had misplaced my bank card. The lady I spoke to turned to what appeared to be the manager, who simply said no when I asked if I could come back with cash during the week. I found this service to be disgusting, especially considering the amount of money we have spent at this establishment. The excuse given was that the card reader was not working again, but I can't help but wonder if this is a tax dodge. I will not be returning to this restaurant, and I will be sure to spread the word about my experience. Remember, word of mouth is powerful.

I am a frequent customer at this restaurant, but they recently changed their menu. The steak pie dinner used to come with mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage, carrots, and peas. However, after the menu update, it now only comes with peas and a large portion of mashed potatoes. In my opinion, they should consider raising their prices instead of simplifying the menu. I fear they may lose many regular customers due to these changes, which is a shame because the staff is very friendly and attentive.

My friend recommended Crossroads Cafe to us, and we decided to visit with a group of 5 for breakfast before heading to the Beer Festival at the Roundhouse. This place is surprisingly spacious inside. The food and service were excellent, especially the Crossroads Breakfast which offered great quantity, quality, and value for the price. It seems to be a popular spot, and we couldn't find a breakfast deal like this near Lichfield. We will definitely be returning next year.

First time I've been to this cafe, couldn't fault it at all we had 2 Crossroads Breakfasts £6 each that was including a drink bargain, food and staff spot on, will be back again.

You call this value for money????? All bread. Asked for welldone bacon. That isn't. This is a large.... 1 egg and 3 rashers of bacon is a joke!!!!!! Avoid!!!
