Wente's - Chesterfield

First, this place allows smoking. Didn't see that on their website so just FYI. It's allowed, so it won't effect my review. Of our two meals the grilled cheese and fries for $8-ish was a good deal. Basic with steak fries or curly fries, but didn't disappoint. For almost $14 the fried clam appetizer basket was over done, so it was dry with no taste other than well done breading. Waitress didn't come back in time to say anything, though staff was very attentive during the rest of our visit. Also, the parking lot floods in the rain, and a soaking wet foot getting out of the car was a buzz kill. If you don't mind the smoke and stick to sandwiches, burgers, etc. it's a popular choice for a dive bar with music and food. As they say, your mileage may vary.

Dropped in with my family for a quick lunch and had a nice time. Portions are large which makes up for the higher prices.Beer was refreshing and wings were amazing! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, plenty of outdoor seating for families

Everybody is just happy to see you here.The pizza is great. The bartender made good suggestions. The rest of the menu looks good. It's bar food, but it looks good.They have a BIG outdoor tent for the smokers.Everyone was very friendly and if I'm in the area again I'll definitely stop here.Edit:While sitting at the bar enjoying my half-and-half pizza, there were SEVERAL people ordering take-out. The food here is bar food, but it's GOOD bar food.

Food good but $35 for a burger, fry 2 truly type drinks. Waitress nice. Might go back if with friends.

THE SERVER WROTE IN HER OWN TIP!!!Not only was the food terrible, the service was slow and rude, the bathrooms were disgusting, and THE SERVER WROTE IN HER OWN TIP.When we called, they said they had “Every right to write in their own tip” and would “Pass the info along to the owner”.No refund from the restaurant, had to report fraud to the bank to get any money back. This is unacceptable.
