The Village Bistro - Chester

My partner and I dined at the restaurant tonight and had an incredible experience! The ambiance is so welcoming, and I truly appreciate its unique character. Our waitress and the bartender were very friendly and provided us with excellent recommendations. We both started with the tequila cocktail, and then he ordered the huckleberry fin, both of which were delicious. For our appetizer, we shared the steak tartare. I had the duck, while he chose the Asian noodle dish with black bauch and egg. He absolutely loved his meal, and we both agreed that the steak tartare was equally fantastic. The portions are on the smaller side, but the flavors are rich and satisfying. We will definitely be coming back!

This is such a great spot! The hummus and the burger are insane, definitely check it out!

Four stars might be a bit generous, but I can’t say it was all bad. The service was great. My fiancé ordered the chicken which was also great maybe a little on the dry side but nothing to complain about. However, I ordered Asian style noodles since there was no dairy in it and the taste was overwhelmingly garlicky. To the point where I couldn’t taste any other flavor except garlic. Thankfully I like garlic, but do not order this dish if you don’t. I also ordered pork belly for some protein on my noodles which was not only dry, but hard as a rock. It was literally like charcoal. I only complain at a restaurant if the food is somehow inedible. In this case, I hate to say that the pork was not edible. I will keep it at 4 stars since the restaurant is new, the service was fantastic they took the pork belly off the bill , and we are willing to give it a second shot. Our bill came to a little over 60 without any drinks and with the pork belly taken off the bill. Hopefully it will be better the second time around!

A must-visit! It was absolutely worth the trip from Manhattan. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food is delicious, the staff is lovely, and they have the best garlic butter in Connecticut!

The food was good, but the temperature was not up to standard. On my third visit, the steak was served cool and undercooked for my requested doneness. I really want this restaurant to succeed and hope they can improve in this area.
