Royal Oak Kinnerton Lane - Chester

We frequently go to the Royal Oak because it is close by and never fails to disappoint. This time we went on a Monday night, so it was relatively quiet. Unfortunately, some dishes were not available, likely due to fresh stocks not being replenished after the weekend. I was disappointed that my favorite dish, the Mushroom Bourgignon Pie, was not available. Nevertheless, there were still plenty of options to choose from and all three of us enjoyed our meals as always. The service was prompt and friendly. The prices of the food were reasonable and the portions were generous. We are excited for our next visit!

The restaurant offers delicious roast dishes at a reasonable price. The daily menu has a great selection of dishes. My only suggestion would be to add baked potatoes as an option instead of just chips.

We ordered medium-rare steaks, but they came out blackened and overcooked. The waitress said she would send them back to the kitchen, but we never received any further communication about them.

Big pub scarf at a very reasonable price! Very recommended!

Booked for Easter Sunday, waited quite along time to be waited on. Ended up getting drinks from the bar ourselves. Menus on the table had gravy stains on them. Chicken starters were good although the mushroom starter was more bread than mushroom, which was a shame as the mushrooms were good. Roast dinners were very average, wouldn’t come for another roast. Which is a shame as this place used to be fully booked for Easter and Xmas as they had a great reputation for roast dinners.
