Contribuiți la feedbackThe Stretch Diner appears to be trying to re-establishing itself--needs a good scouring and attention to seating (I sat on a wobbly chair that was in much need of attention, so changed it out). Our order was taken and fulfilled in a reasonable amount of time--served by a polite and attentive staff. The turkey in our club sandwiches was fresh and delicious all way round. Just needs some investment in cleaning, safe seating--general refresh. We'll return.
Entered into a smallish restaurant with a 50's vibe and didnt expect much. the food arrived and portions were generous. i had fish burger that was abolutely delicious . crunchy fish coating, fresh bun, fresh fish. my friends had fish and chips and raved about the fresh quality of the fish. good fries which is a must. staff very pleasant. would go there again. take out was also an option.
We ordered a 2-piece and a 3-piece fish and chips to go. We picked it up and went to the park to eat it. When we opened the bag, we were surprised to see only 10 French fries with each order. I have never seen so few fries in a meal before. As a chef, how do you not notice so few fries in the order, it seems intentional. We also requested the fries to be extra crispy, but they were so greasy that we couldn't eat them. Essentially, there were no fries. Additionally, the meal was more expensive than most fish and chip places. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Our last few takeout experiences during COVID were not good. Small portions, the wrong order, and the place looked filthy when we walked in to pick up the order. We had decided this would be our last time picking up food from the Stretch Diner. Shortly thereafter, we heard that it had been ordered closed due to health violations. Makes sense! Clearly, things haven’t improved because the place looks abandoned. Even their ‘really good fish ‘n chips’ was barely passable at the best of times. Our advice: avoid this place. The owners should put a padlock on the door. What a blight on Chester’s gastronomy.
After spending a long time camping on Graves Island, we finally decided to try out this restaurant. We were hoping for a hidden gem with amazing food, but were ultimately left disappointed. The food was terrible. My wife ordered the scallops for $18, and what she got was six scallops served on top of french fries. The scallops lacked flavor and were the most tasteless she had ever eaten, and the home fries were nothing special either. I ordered a Club sandwich, which is typically hard to mess up, but it fell short of my expectations. I have had better club sandwiches elsewhere. This will be our first and last visit to this restaurant. I strongly recommend continuing on your way and dining elsewhere.
