Contribuiți la feedbackThis café is a charming spot that offers delicious food. I frequently gather with friends here. The cozy log burner adds to the ambiance. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The only drawback for me is that dogs are permitted inside the café. I would prefer if there was a designated area for dogs and their owners.
The Chester Millenium Greenway can be easily accessed from the eastern entrance in Mickle Trafford, just a few yards away from Meadow Lea Farm Cafe. Our family chose to meet up here and we were pleasantly surprised by the modern interior of the cafe within a building that may have once been used as an animal shed. A bustling young team quickly took our order, and my thickly sliced Cheshire bacon in a freshly baked bap was absolutely delicious. My wife's toasted tea cake was quickly devoured, mostly by our grandchildren. The lattes we ordered had a truly delightful flavor. We enjoyed sitting outside on a warm morning, taking in the vibrant dahlia display and watching the activity in the farmyard and car park. There were some interesting lunch options available as well. It was clear from the attire of other customers that this cafe is a popular meeting spot for cyclists who are either embarking on or returning from a journey along the greenway to central Chester and beyond to Connah's Quay wharf in Wales. However, sitting outside in September with sweet drinks and jam may attract pesky wasps! Our grandchildren particularly loved the free rides on the play tractors and other entertainment available for lively toddlers. Overall, Meadow Lea Farm Cafe provided a great experience for our family gathering.
Three of us went here for a long chat over a cuppa and really scrumptious carrot cake. Sorry we may have stayed a bit past closing time but thanks for not throwing us out.
The food was good could not fault that but the surroundings were not great I understand dogs can go in there but when they bark alot high pitched) it’s not great but when there owner then puts her plate on the floor and lets the dog eat her leftovers sorry for me that’s abit much . Someone did tell the girl but they just took the plate with all the others … I also asked if someone could clear the table after we had eaten because we were having another drink and she said NO sorry they have not got time so we moved the plates ourselves to another table . Does not want to make me return.
I have been very disappointed on my last two visits to this restaurant. The quality of ingredients was poor, especially the tough sausage skin. This time, I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and the mushrooms were served wrinkled and dry. The staff was lovely and the environment was spotlessly clean, but I will not be ordering hot food again. I will stick to ordering cake instead.
