Contribuiți la feedbackI went to this restaurant with my family for lunch, ordering three meals for each adult and one to two meals for each child. Two of our orders were delivered promptly, but we waited 50 minutes and never received the kids' order. When I spoke to a staff member, he was incredibly rude and insisted that they had not forgotten our order, offering various excuses. He even suggested that it was our fault for not ordering and paying together. After an hour with no food, I asked for a refund. The staff only refunded the cost of the food and charged us for the drinks we had ordered. I had to point out that we had only ordered drinks to go with our meals before finally receiving a full refund. Strangely, the staff member I initially spoke to turned out to be the manager, Nigel (who can be identified by his man bun). The other staff members seemed helpful but overworked. Overall, poor management ruined what could have been a pleasant meal.
We visited this restaurant on a Saturday at noon to meet some friends, and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. The service was quick and efficient. However, the quality of the food was inconsistent. The 10 oz gammon and chips was undercooked, fatty, and unappetizing. The vegetable curry lacked flavor, but the fish and chips were decent. The apple crumble was also bland and powdery. Despite the mixed reviews on the food, we appreciated the clean and well-maintained decor, including stain-free seating and wheelchair-accessible toilets. Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend this restaurant.
I'm going to buck the trend on here and although it is 3.5 circles, go 4 due to the smiling welcome we received. A lot of complaints about the service but we received our food in a reasonable time. Early Sunday morning and our usual people were holidaying so my friend suggested here. The carpets need a good clean but our table was fine. Ordered the large veggie brek. Eggs were overdone and 4 pieces of toast covered half the large plate. Everything else was fine. Coffee was from a machine that a lot of very good hotels use and if you want a top up, that's included. So service and value were 4 circles, ambience and food were 3. I don't think these reviews are read by management but they're not far away from being a more regular haunt, just clean the carpets, there was a squashed pea on the stairs!!
Weatherspoons is a typical chain with spacious bar/lounge areas and upstairs restrooms. I ordered my meal through the app and received a steak with a baked potato and peppercorn sauce. It was what I expected, not outstanding but decent value for the price.
I popped in for lunch while on a visit to see all that Macclesfield has to offer. In this place we found the worst it has to offer, I think. We ordered 2 jacket potatoes and cheese. When they arrived there was a pot of an unknown substance with it, so I asked what it contained as I’m allergic to some foods. The server didn’t know but said it could be looked up on the allergy screen. She then walked away and did not offer to look at said screen! Then I went to the bar and asked what it was and was told salad dressing. So I asked what the likelihood was of there being my anllergic-food in it and I was told that he didn’t know. No offer of help whatsoever. So I couldn’t risk eating it. Therefore I had to eat a dry medium sized potato with no butter (not provided), about a teaspoon of tasteless cheese and a few leaves of salad, with half a teaspoons worth of onion, 3 small circles of cucumber and nothing else. No salt or pepper. No sauces. (On our way out we did see where these were kept but weren’t told about them to know they were there). My mums was the same. She has allergies too so couldn’t use the dressing as we had no idea what it was. I’ve only been allergic a very short time so am new to all this, so really did need help. This restaurant is ripe for a big incident if everyone with an allergy is told that they can’t find out what ingredients are in stuff. Also the portions of cheese were not even worth serving up and the salad the worst one I’ve ever seen.
