Contribuiți la feedbackWas badly received to start with , how did I dare asking for a glass of water during one of the hottest day of the year . Only to be told that if i did not spend any money I could no have it. I would have been willing to pay if I had been asked however . I was clearly going to be a bother customer so I was not even ask to paid just badly spoken to. I therefore decided to guide the man is half full glass of water. . To all tourist or traveler passing by, please avoid this place there are so many nice place in Cherbourg where you will be nicely received .
After a wonderful holiday in our Touring Caravan, we decided to try the Bar Le Transmanche in the Cherbourg Ferry Port before checking in for our return to Poole via Brittany Ferries. The menu was very cheap and there was not a great deal on offer, but as we were hungry and knew we had a four hour plus wait before boarding the Ferry, we decided to try what was on offer. There appeared to be only two people working behind the Bar Area, a married couple, who were extremely friendly and very helpful. We opted for a simple Steak and Chips each, and Sausage and Chips for our five year old Granddaughter, the Steak and Chips was only €8.50 and the Sausage and Chips €5.50, so we were not expecting Cordon Bleu food. However, when our food arrived, we were surprised at what appeared, an absolutely huge Steak, and very well cooked, to order. It was so succulent that cutting into it with our knives was easy, one of the best Steaks I have eaten for a long while. We'll definitely be eating here again if we travel out of the Cherbourg Ferry Port. The only reason I have given this review a 4 Star Rating, not 5 Star as the food and service deserved, is because the Bar and Ferry Port are a little bit dated and could do with a make over.
